The Jain community, victims of political neglect, must awaken
Respected brothers and sisters, Jai Jinendra!
It is known to all Jain followers that, according to government statistics, the Jain community's population is stated to be around 5 million, which is an inaccurate figure.
The total population of all sects of Jain followers is over 50 million. Despite this, political parties give little importance to the Jain community. This is primarily due to a lack of unity and organization within the community.
It is noteworthy, dear Jain brothers and sisters, that during the formation of the first Lok Sabha, more than 60 Jain members graced the house as MPs. However, this number gradually decreased, and today, we have reached a point where not a single Jain is present in the Lok Sabha as an MP. This is a matter of great concern and requires serious reflection.
Not long ago, Anop Mandal carried out the vile act of defaming the Jain community (and they continue to do so). However, not a single political party stood with the community, as if the Jain community had become untouchable.
Another point to consider is that when Shri Sammed Shikhar Ji was declared a tourist site in 2018, the then BJP government was in power in Jharkhand. Currently, the Jain community across India feels insecure, and the entire community must reflect on this. Otherwise, others will continue to take control of our temples, and our society, divided by different ideologies, will witness its own downfall.
Before this situation worsens, all sects must unite under the slogan 'We are all Jains' and field as many Jain candidates as possible in each Lok Sabha and Assembly election, with the goal of making them MPs. If the Jain community works together, it is possible to win 15-20 Lok Sabha seats comfortably. Even if, for some reason, a Jain candidate does not win, the political equations could still shift. This initiative could increase the chances of adequate representation for the Jain community, which would be in its best interest.
To achieve this, every Jain individual must take on a critical role during elections. When going to vote, they should carefully read all the names on the EVM machine before casting their vote. Efforts should be made to vote for the Jain candidate, provided the individual has a clean and upright character.
If every Jain resolves to vote only for Jain candidates, this initiative could help us elect strong representatives—MPs and MLAs from our community—who can protect our religion, culture, and heritage. These leaders would stand in the assemblies and Parliament as the voice of the Jain community, dedicated to safeguarding our interests and ensuring our community's protection.
If any Jain brother or sister is running as a candidate in your area, regardless of their party affiliation, it is essential to vote for them and encourage others to do the same. Only then will awareness grow within our community. I urge everyone to share this message with all Jain brothers and sisters, and in Jain groups. This message should reach the mobile phones of every Jain across India.
Today, encroachments are occurring at our temples, such as Shri Palitana and Shri Girnar Ji, as well as other religious sites. What kind of protection is this?
Please reflect on this matter.
Yours sincerely
